So many of us these days are using the internet to find that special someone.  At one time it would have been embarrassing to say you met someone from the internet or on an app.  Not so anymore, in fact it is popular.  You can even use a matchmaking service to meet that special person. 1: Show Not Tell

You might have heard this phrase in a writing class in school at some point.  Basically the point is show the info about yourself without telling it out right.  This makes the sentences in your match dating site profile bio more powerful and less boring.  A boring profile will turn people away.   Just have fun with the way you describe yourself.  Here are some examples to help out.  

• Telling: I play tennis and soccer on the weekends.   Showing: On the weekends you will find me running around chasing tennis and soccer balls

2: Don’t Be Afraid To Be Honest

On your profile you will need to be true to yourself.  There are aspects of ourselves we might be afraid to mention or reveal right away.  I am not talking about your deepest secrets, but maybe a hobby you are afraid you might be judged on.  To use myself as an example, I am a geeky and slightly nerdy person.  I was nervous to mention it in my dating profile.   I was afraid to mention it because I feared being nerdy would instantly turn people away. However there are some helpful tips to consider such as reframing the adjectives that you use to describe yourself. Consider replacing geeky or nerdy with intellectual, brainy, bookworm, techie, gearhead, and adorably socially awkward with unique sense of humor. You should not hide some of the best qualities that make you unique because we need help from  The Law of Attraction in an online environment too.  It is important to remember; standing out from the crowd is extremely important in online dating. 3: Think About What It Is You Want

Everyone is looking for different types of relationships.  You might be looking for a serious long term relationship or maybe you are seeing what happens.  Either way you do not want to mislead people in your intentions.  Often people who are looking to start serious relationships will mention it in their profile.  Now you do not need to put in your profile that you are just window shopping or anything like that.  Consider writing what you are hoping to accomplish, so that the algorithm on the best dating websites, can pair you with matches that are on the similar pages. Furthermore, intentions are conditional. So don’t be afraid to mention that you want a relationship, but only with the right person. • Boring fact:  I got the third place in an art contest in first grade Funny and interesting version:  I got a third-place ribbon in first-grade art contest…so I’m basically Picasso.
• Boring fact:  I was a really great swimmer in middle school. Funny and interesting version:  In middle school I was a star swimmer but I stopped because I did not want to make Michael Phelps look bad at the Olympics.
